Toddler's Reaction to Disney Characters Speaking "His Language" Will Melt Your Heart

During a toddler's recent trip to Disneyland, he was hoping for some Disney magic, but what the beloved characters did for him was beyond what anyone expected.

The unnamed 2-year-old, who was born with special needs and abandoned after birth, visited the theme park with his adoptive parents. Olive Crest, a nonprofit that provides housing, education, and counseling for abused or high-risk kids, organized the trip for foster and adoptive families. Because the child is deaf, his family also brought an ASL translator to ensure that he didn't miss out on anything during the big opportunity to meet Mickey, Minnie, and Pluto.

Their heartwarming interaction was captured on video and shows the boy first approaching Pluto and using sign language to communicate. Pluto quickly responded, followed by Minnie and Mickey. "The child was ecstatic after meeting the characters because he didn't know they would speak 'his language,'" an Olive Crest representative told ABC. "The child is typically not a hugger, so the fact that he hugged both Minnie and Mickey spoke volumes to the joy he felt."

The representative explained that the characters weren't briefed on the special visit beforehand and managed to sign "I love you" as well as "It's nice to meet you!" to the ecstatic child.
