Kids React to Photos of Caitlyn Jenner, and Their Words Once Again Prove That Kids Are the Best

Just when you wonder if kids have the capacity to truly understand large concepts and complex adult situations, they surprise you. A group of children were shown photos of both Bruce and Caitlyn Jenner, and while the children described the photo of Bruce simply, commenting that they could see a strong man who was running, when shown a photo of Caitlyn Jenner, the kids used words like "happy," "confident," and "calm."

Once they were told that the two photos were of the same person, they appeared surprised, but those feelings were quickly replaced with some very inspiring words — one child said, "Who she wants to be is who she should be." Then the children were presented with reaction tweets — from both people who support Caitlyn and people who do not — and while the kids reacted positively with the tweets in support of her transition, their reactions to the negative ones were plastered all over their faces.

Then they continue to surprise. Rather than react with negative thoughts, the children took the hate from the tweets and tried to understand where those reactions could be coming from. One child commented, "Maybe they're just a little overwhelmed, and they're like, 'oh my gosh, this person is taking such a big step in life,' and they don't understand what it feels like to just be who you want to be."
