Their Dad Isn't in the Picture, So 1 Teen Took His Baby Sister to a Father-Daughter Dance

For 17-year-old Mohammad Hasher and his 6-year-old sister Noor, life has been a bit difficult following their parents' divorce. Because their dad isn't in the picture for them right now, Noor was rightfully upset when she assumed she would have to miss out on her elementary school's father-daughter dance.

Cue Mohammad, Big Brother of the Year.

"I heard about the dance the day of," Mohammad told BuzzFeed. "I actually went downstairs and saw Noor sitting in a dress on the couch with a big frown on her face. I wasn't going to let my little sister be the one out of all her friends to not be at the dance."

He took his baby sister out to buy a sparkly new dress and the pair set off for a magical night. Mohammad posted a few snaps to Twitter, where the internet collectively melted over his sweet gesture. "Got to take my baby sister to her first daddy daughter dance the other night," his tweet read. "Sorry you don't have a dad, but I'll always be there for you."

Mohammad also said that Noor actually won a box of candy because he was voted "best dad" at the dance. "To me [the dance] meant so much," he said. "It sort of gave me a wake-up call on how important it is to be there for her."
