Aside from the library, the Disney store is one of our favorite places to pick up family-friendly books . . . and a new charitable initiative is giving us even more reason to add some reading material to our shopping carts! The company just pledged to donate up to one million books to kids in need through the "Magic of Storytelling," an effort to inspire a love of reading in underprivileged kids.

A few retailers — including Target, Walmart, and Costco — are participating in the initiative, which donates one book to a child per Disney book purchased. To make sure that your purchase is included in the Magic of Storytelling, check this list of titles. And if buying new books isn't a possibility, don't fret — you can still participate in the effort to provide books to needy kids! You can also unlock a donation for every applicable shelfie, sweepstakes entry, or digital book read; check out the full details of the program here.

In the meantime, you can shop (and help donate) books here. We've pulled a few of our favorite titles for different reading levels, so every family can find a book they love!
