Remember that time President Barack Obama made Donald Trump look incredibly silly? The year: 2011. The scene: the Washington Hilton. The event: the White House Correspondents' Dinner. What happened: in his annual stand-up comedy bit for the press, President Obama made birther Donald Trump the butt of his jokes. Trump had flirted with the idea of running for the Republican presidential nomination that cycle, and Obama joked that his experience on Celebrity Apprentice would surely prepare Trump for the important job of president.

The good part starts around the 2:50 mark, and you can see Trump squirm in his seat as Obama goes on. And one historical note: leading up to the 2011 dinner, Obama and his team were preparing for the raid that killed Osama bin Laden, which happened days later. Way to keep your cool.

What makes Obama's mockery so relevant is the possibility that his jokes catalyzed Trump's desire to run for president. As a recently released Frontline documentary about Trump's life suggests, he couldn't take being humiliated by the nation's first black president, so he vowed to be the man to succeed him. At this point, however, the idea of a President Trump seems highly unlikely.
