  • President Donald Trump responded to protests at UC Berkeley against a scheduled speaker with close ties to white nationalism. While the demonstrations turned dangerous with protesters setting off fireworks and looting private property, Trump posted a tweet implying he could defund the school for inhibiting "free speech." The speaker, Breitbart editor Milo Yiannopoulos, did not end up giving his talk.

Trump also reportedly told the prime minister that "this was the worst call by far" with a world leader.
