The Hilarious Way 1 Mexican Congressman Proved Trump's Wall Is Totally Useless

President Donald Trump is committed to building a wall between Mexico and the United States — but just how effective would the barrier be? Well, as demonstrated by one Mexican Congressman, the wall (which already exists on some parts of the border) is not quite as preventative as Trump wishes it were.

Sencillo subir al #Muro pero son muchos los peligros para nuestra gente. Derechos Humanos, principios y dignidad son innegociables #México🇲🇽 pic.twitter.com/9PExn3RlnV

Braulio Guerra, a lawmaker from the Queretaro state, shared video and pictures of himself atop the wall which separates Tijuana from the States. The translated tweets suggest it's also pretty easy to hop the barrier.

"I was able to scale it, climb it, and sit myself right here," Guerra said in the video as translated by ABC News. "It would be simple for me to jump into the United States, which shows that it is unnecessary and totally absurd to build a wall."

Later in the video, Guerra indicates that scaling the border is common. "I climbed it in Tijuana, one of the highest parts, even from a distance this looks very complex, but there are young people that go up and down, at all times," he said. There are also pictures of Guerra atop the wall.

Escalé el Muro con EEUU. Mira @realDonaldTrump lo absurdo e innecesario el gasto en este proyecto que agravia y daña nuestra buena vecindad. pic.twitter.com/K2S5RI8a0d

Despite successfully scaling the wall, Guerra did not actually share video of how he climbed it. ABC News also points out that some social media users questioned if Guerra completed the climb without assistance. Either way, there seems to be some discrepancy between the wall's necessity and its efficacy.
