Overturned Truck in Ohio Releases Thousands of Piglets

A semitruck on an Ohio highway has overturned with 2,200 piglets inside. The driver lost control and hit a guardrail, causing thousands of piglets to escape. Dayton Daily News reports that about 1,100 piglets died as a result of the crash, while others have been taken to the Greene Country fair grounds to be housed and given water before being taken to Indiana, their original destination. Many of the remaining piglets ran into the woods nearby. The video above shows volunteers, police, firefighters, and local farmers assisting in the rescue of the piglets.
