5 Adult Summer Camps That Go Way Past Campfire Songs

If you ever went to Summer camp as a kid, you remember those few days being total bliss. No parents, new friends, and s'mores — what more could you have asked for? Add some grown-up beverages (and perhaps some sleeping bag hanky-panky) into the itinerary and you've got yourself an adult-friendly getaway. Grown-up versions of sleep-away camp have been rising in popularity, and we've found five for every kind of camper. Whether you want a digital detox or boozy nostalgic fun, there's a camp for you. Club Getaway

You don't have to rough it at Club Getaway, where you'll enjoy cabins with housekeeping and private bathrooms and gourmet dishes. You won't get bored, either. A variety of fitness classes, from kickboxing to pole dancing, are offered in addition to adventure sports and hikes. Dinner parties and lakeside happy hours both feature live music and, of course, lots of alcohol.

Camp Bonfire

Camp Bonfire is like a flashback to your childhood Summers, except with more advanced arts and crafts. Expect activities like canoeing, archery, stand-up paddleboarding, terrarium building, charcoal drawing, and even freestyle rapping. If you'd rather relax, there's also reading time, cloud watching, and yoga. Lodging is typical to your camp cabin, and food is upgraded to healthier adult options.

Camp Grounded

This four-day off-the-grid adult camp is chance for you to unplug and get away. Get crafty, nourish the soul, and enjoy ultimate relaxation at Camp Grounded. Over 25 "playshops" and activities include creative writing, hip-hop dance, late-night tea, pizza baking, and hiking. Digital technology, work talk, alcohol, and drugs are strictly prohibited. You do get to enjoy healthy gourmet meals, however. Share a cabin with up to 12 other campers, or opt to sleep in your own tent under the stars.

Welcome Campers Presented by The Wild Honey Pie

Summer camp meets music festival at Welcome Campers weekend. The affordable admission price provides lodging (bunks), meals (plus access to food trucks), musical performances, and camp activities like kayaking and hiking. Previous lineups have featured Ra Ra Riot, Talib Kweli, and Haim.

Camp No Counselors

Camp No Counselors' tagline, "play like a kid, party like a grown-up," pretty sums it all up. The all-inclusive weekend sleep-away camp for adults features land and water activities, nightly theme parties, arts and crafts, meals, and, most importantly, an open bar. You won't be able to document all the fun on social media, however. You won't find service.
