The concierge at my Dublin, Ireland, hotel put it perfectly when he said, "You can't come to Dublin and not see the Guinness Storehouse — it is Dublin!" Marcin, my concierge at the Conrad Dublin hotel, was right in recommending the Guinness experience. The brewery and storehouse at St. James's Gate still stand where Arthur Guinness started brewing beer in the 1700s. Now, the giant building that houses the experience for visitors to enjoy includes floor after floor of history, the process, a tasting, and multiple bars. It's a completely immersive experience that anyone — beer fan or not — should check out while in Dublin because of its rich ties to Dublin's history. If you're still not totally convinced, I have five good reasons to sway your decision.

You're given the whole history and creation process

If you're like me and you love knowing how things are made, you'll love seeing how Guinness is made from start to finish. You also learn the history of the company and can browse the archive of bottles and advertisements.

You learn to pour your own pint

Part of the experience of the storehouse is getting behind a bar and pulling your own pint. An expert shows you how it's done before releasing you to do it yourself. Then you get to enjoy the perfect pint you just poured. So gratifying.

It's the freshest Guinness you'll ever have

You're getting a Guinness practically straight from the brewery, so you won't find one fresher anywhere else on the planet. The flavors are crisper and it's the most refreshing beer you can find.

The 360-degree views from the top floor

The Guinness Storehouse is seven floors of a beer-lover's paradise, and the top-floor bar of the building has a 360-degree view of Dublin. It's the best view you'll get anywhere in the city.

The Irish dancing!

While we were on the top floor enjoying our Guinnesses, we were treated to some traditional Irish step dancing by the employees. It was easily my favorite part of the whole experience and the No. 1 reason I recommend you visit.
