Believe it or not, you should be cleaning out your blow dryer every month. It's something a lot of people don't even think about. Most hair dryers never get cleaned out at all!

In order to get your dryer back in shape, first you should find the cap at the back of the hair dryer where it intakes air. That cap should be easy to twist off. Inside you will find a filter that's filled with dirt, dust, and all sorts of gunk. You can use a toothbrush or damp cloth to remove the build up. Just make sure the filter is completely dry before you place the cap back on. Once the cap is in place, you're good to go. Make sure you're dryer is not plugged in while you're cleaning it!

Why is it so important to clean out your blow dryer? The motor needs to have good ventilation in order to work well. Any build up in the air filter will decrease the amount of air flowing through the vent. This can cause overheating or your dryer to break altogether. Also, it will take longer to dry your hair because it's less effective. So keep up on cleaning your styling tool so that you won't have to buy a new one! You'll save yourself money and time.
