Amazon's New Home Gadget Is Every Lazy Person's Dream

Amazon is getting pretty good at making our lives easier. Back in March, the company announced the convenient Amazon Dash Button, but the Amazon Echo might be even better. The Siri-like gadget is a virtual assistant for your home that can answer questions, announce the weather and traffic, make to-do lists, control your music, set reminders, and much more. It launched in private beta last year, but now it's available to the public for $180. Based on reviews and tweets so far, it seems to be living up to its hype.

People can't get enough . . .

After using Amazon Echo for a week I want so many things in my house to be voice controlled. Microwave. Stove. Lights.

Amazon Echo is answering my 4-yo's "What day is it?", "How do I spell ____?" and basic math questions. Already money well spent.

Though sometimes she gets silly . . .

I was in the bath and our Amazon Echo accosted me with an 80s dance playlist and would not stop no matter how loud I yelled.

Asked our Amazon Echo if a hotdog is a sandwich. Her reply: "No. Chocolate Starfish and the Hotdog Flavored Water is not a sandwich."
