Even though Apple's Siri has come under fire for revealing personal information while it's locked, the smart assistant recently helped save a mom's life. A 4-year-old boy used Siri to call emergency services in London and help his mom who stopped breathing, reports the BBC.

The boy, Roman, unlocked his mom's phone with her thumb and used Siri to call 999 (the emergency number in the UK). In the phone call released by Metropolitan Police, emergency services asked him to wake up his mom and when she didn't wake, they sent over an ambulance in 13 minutes. Thankfully, the mom is now OK and back home with her kids.

This story is a reminder of just one way the iPhone can save your life.
