4 Emoji That Will Never Look the Same

While many are (rightfully) upset by the lack of familial diversity in the emoji releases, we were a bit distracted by something else — a few of our favorite emoji have totally changed their look! Scrolling through pages of the tiny icons hasn't changed too much aside from the broad range of new skin color options, but a few subtle tweaks caught our eye after the app update.

Your emoji are certainly keeping up with the times — instead of the round-faced analog watch emoji that we know and love, the new update replaces it with an Apple Watch.

The new icon for the princess emoji rocks dark lipstick . . . how hip! While you can access pink-lipped princesses thanks to the diverse changes in the app, the dirty blonde with a red pout is gone for good.

Perhaps most intriguing of the emoji changes is the duo of dancing girls . . . dubbed "Woman With Bunny Ears," we're finally able to see why! Instead of the blocky, barrette-looking accessories in the old emoji, the updated version shows off two pairs of distinct rabbit ears. As a POPSUGAR director exclaimed, "They look like Playboy Bunnies now!"

Remember the praying hands? Well, the new iOS got rid of the yellow burst of light. The change might be because this emoji actually signifies please and thank you or a high five instead of the prayer hands we always assumed.
