There's Now a Quick Fix to Make Your News Feed Less Boring

No matter how much we gripe about it, Facebook is a place where we connect with our friends, whether it's by liking photos or getting updated on life events. In an effort to improve this experience, the company announced a new way of personalizing your news feed, bringing the focus back to those who matter in your life.

The update, which rolls out today on iOS, is "News Feed Preferences," which will let you pick and choose what people, pages, and groups to always see first in your news feed. You'll still see random posts from all your other Facebook friends — just after what you care the most about.

But if you're not a fan of constantly seeing updates from that one person you had a class with in college, "News Feed Preferences" lets you unfollow people more easily (as well as "reconnect").

You'll also find that under these new settings, there is a "Discover New Pages" feature, where you can find more pages to track that align with what you've liked already.

If you want to start curating your News Feed today, open up the Facebook app, click on the "More" tab, and scroll down to settings, where you'll see "News Feed Preferences." While it's only available to iOS users today, it'll soon arrive to Android and desktop versions as well.

These new updates to Facebook are giving you to power to control what you see and how to let the app influence your life. The Facebook News Feed is becoming our new homepage, to stay in the loop with our friends, family, and the world all in one place. By letting you decide what you want to see first and always, Facebook is becoming so personal, that it'll be an app you'll never want to delete.
