Tidy Gets Photo Chaos Under Control

Guilty of photo hoarding? You've come to the right place. Sorting pictures into albums using Gallery on Android or the Photos app on iOS is such a painful experience, so we've been looking for a new app that gets Camera Roll chaos under control.

Tidy (free) for iOS and Android can group photos by location, shape, and by time (one hour, six hours, day, week, month, and year), making album-arranging a surprisingly straightforward task.

Simply swipe right to create an album or swipe left to "archive" the photos. Archiving the images keeps the files stored on your phone, but they're out of the way while you tidy up your Camera Roll.

Once the album is created, there are plenty of things you can do with the newly sorted photos. My favorite feature is the ability to select multiple photos at once by hitting "Select" at the top right of Album View, then dragging your finger across several images. Choose a bunch of pictures at once without having to lift a finger!

You can then send that photo batch to a Facebook album, an email contact, or move them to another Tidy album.

If you're traveling, Tidy is a great way to organize images based on excursions and locations explored until you can get to a computer. If you're running out of phone storage, however, that's another story. Follow these tips on how to automatically back up and purge photos from your phone.
