Stars celebrated the world of fashion in NYC last night at the 2013 CFDA Awards in Lincoln Center. The event honors top fashion designers, and stylish stars like Kerry Washington and Jessica Chastain joined the party on the arms of celebrated designers. Being that this was a style event, there were plenty of supermodels at the bash, including Victoria's Secret stars Adriana Lima, Candice Swanepoel, and Karlie Kloss. Hillary Clinton also joined the bash to present the Founders Award to Oscar de la Renta, the man behind many of the former secretary of state's famous pantsuits. She joked about her sense of style during her speech, saying, "Now that I have some more time on my hands I am going to be pitching Andy Cohen and others a new show for Bravo. . . . We can call it Project Pantsuit." She also noted that she was embarrassed when she first met Oscar and he told her that she was wearing one of his designs.

Of course, there were a few stars in attendance who had a closer connection to the CFDA Awards other than just being fans of fashion. Tobey Maguire turned out to support his wife, jewelry designer Jennifer Meyer, who was nominated for the Swarovski Award for emerging talent for accessory design. Mary-Kate Olsen also attended the event after scooping up the highly coveted womenswear award with her sister Ashley back in 2012. Katie Holmes took a walk in Manhattan yesterday and ran into a pal, Ethan Hawke. He was sitting on the stoop of his NYC home getting air with his youngest child, 1-year-old Indiana. Ethan and Ryan Shawhughes, Indiana's mom, have another daughter together, 4-year-old Clementine. Ethan's also dad to 10-year-old Levon and 14-year-old Maya with his ex, Uma Thurman. It's been a big week for the Hawke clan — Ryan and Ethan stepped out Monday night to premiere his new horror movie Sinister at NYC's Tribeca Grand Hotel. Katie, meanwhile, had the day to herself while her only child, Suri Cruise, was off at school. Katie has kept busy prepping for a return to Broadway in Dead Accounts and has thrown herself into NYC life. Earlier this week, Katie was seen taking the subway!

Gwyneth Paltrow had a huge smile on her face as she arrived at Elio's restaurant in NYC to celebrate her 40th birthday last Friday. She was joined by a group of famous pals, including Christy Turlington, Chelsea Handler, Kristen Wiig, Jessica Seinfeld, and Ethan Hawke for the dinner. Gwyneth arrived with Cameron Diaz, and Beyoncé Knowles also made an appearance. Beyoncé continued to honor her friend Saturday when she shared a birthday message to Gwyneth during her surprise performance at Jay-Z's final Barclays Center concert. Gwyneth had family in attendance at the meal as well with her mom, Blythe Danner, and godfather, Steven Spielberg, stepping out.

It was the latest birthday fun for Gwyneth, who also marked her big day with dinner at the River Cafe in London last Thursday. Stella McCartney, Hugh Grant, Jamie Oliver, and photographer Mario Testino were among the stars who gathered to fete the actress following Gwyneth and her family's trip to Italy at the end of September.

David Beckham joined the MLS All-Stars last night to take on his old team, Manchester United, at New Jersey's Red Bull Arena just outside NYC. There were plenty of stars in attendance to watch as David's squad faced off against the visiting Brits, including Ethan Hawke, Jessica Szohr, and Gerard Butler. Despite the support for the MLS players, Manchester beat the All-Stars with a final score of 4-0. David, nonetheless, gave the match his all, trying to get no less than three goals in but having each effort blocked. He was the only player allowed to decide how much time he'd spend on the field, even wearing the captain's armband for the game! David said of playing against Manchester, "The problem is with me, it doesn’t matter how old I am, once I am on the field, I don’t want to come off, and I’ll always be like that."
