Now that Summer weather has finally arrived, all we want to do is sport bright colors and indulge in margaritas. Lucky us — Cinco de Mayo came just in time! Gelish MINI came up with a simple, durable DIY to add a punchy pop to your pointers. The best part? If you follow these steps, the look will last for three weeks! That means no matter how many tequilas you sample, your manicure will look glossy and fresh. (As for you, you might want to bookmark our hangover tricks in advance . . . )

Step 1

Step 1

Using a coral lacquer like Gelish I'm Brighter Than You ($13), create a stripe at the base of your nail. After curing the first coat in an LED light for 45 seconds, repeat.

Step 2

Step 2

Using a mint green like Gelish Garden Teal Party ($13), create a second stripe across the middle of the nail, cure for 45 seconds, then repeat. With a fuchsia lacquer like Gelish Pop-arrazi Pose ($13), create a third stripe and cure for 45 seconds. Repeat. Finish with a stripe of bright cobalt like Gelish aMali-Blue Me Away ($13) on the tip of the nail. Cure for 45 seconds and repeat.

Step 3

Step 3

With a striper brush and a white shade like Gelish Arctic Freeze ($13), draw slim lines between each bold stripe, then cure the polish for 45 seconds. If you like, clean off your striper brush and paint on a tiny mustache with a dark shade like Gelish Black Shadow ($13). Finish by curing for 45 seconds.

To finish, apply a thin coat of Gelish Top It Off sealer gel ($10) to the entire nail. (Don't forget to seal the free edge!) Cure for 45 seconds. Feel free to get creative with your striping or repeat the same look on all 10 nails.
