The Secret to Making Your Brows Grow Faster Lies in Your Kitchen

When it comes to wacky beauty hacks, we thought we'd heard and seen just about everything. You can use cornstarch in lieu of setting powder, glue to remove blackheads, and even scissors as a contouring template. However, Instagram user farahdhukai took to her account to demonstrate one of the most unusual tricks we've seen yet.

In order to get fuller brows, Farah suggests that you should rub onions on them for five minutes every day because the "sulphur speeds up the growth of hair and makes it thicker." But before you run to the kitchen to grab an onion, know that this tip might not be as fantastic as it sounds. Experts revealed to Allure that although sulfur has been proven to help grow hair, that doesn't necessarily mean it'll work on your arches.

"I don't want people to think that putting onion juice on every day is going to suddenly give them luscious, thick brows," said Kavita Mariwalla, a dermatologist.

For those who want to try this hack anyway (and don't mind a few tears when chopping them up!), Kavita says it won't cause any damage if you do it the right way. The easiest method is to squeeze onion juice onto a cotton swab and then apply it to your arches, leaving it on for 15 minutes before washing it off.

She also added that you won't see a difference for "about two months." No one said the quest to getting better brows comes easy.
