You're Going to Want to Wear This Scented Jewelry Every Single Day

There's something mystical about these pendants crafted by Peacock Parfumerie, which hang around your neck with a drippy weight that'll earn you admiring glances and plenty of compliments. The top unscrews to allow for filling, and each necklace (there are four colors to choose from) comes with a tiny funnel to make the job easier.

"I was inspired by many eras when creating the Perfume Pendant — by medieval times when treasured scents were customarily carried throughout the day by nobility, and by the Victorian era, as well as in the early 20th century, when women carried perfume with them to refresh their senses," founder Shannon Cumberland said. "It was this notion of carrying a treasured scent that could stimulate and enliven the wearer throughout the day that gave rise to the Perfume Pendant."

Her goal, she said, was to allow the women of today to take a page from generations past.

Peacock Parfumerie Perfume Pendant ($24)

If you're looking for something that feels more girlish, perhaps these pastel-hued crystal pendants by Etsy's Zoe & Piper will do the trick. Each diffuser pendant holds a couple drops of essential oil, and the tops have a small opening to allow the scent to escape throughout the day. You can put a cap on the pendant at night to slow down evaporation.

"Essential oils are an important part of my daily life, from my health to my mood and, most importantly, they keep me grounded. I wanted a diffuser necklace that went with my personal style and my lifestyle, and I just wasn't finding it anywhere," explained Sienna, the designer.

If you're a fan of dark and mystical designs, this locket ring filled with solid perfume may be exactly what you never knew you were looking for. It's different looking, that's for sure, and the Etsy designer even refers to it as a "magical poison ring."

Don't worry, though, it's not really filled with poison. Instead, the black jar — which is topped with a black rose and screwed into the ring base — is filled with a concentrated solid perfume comprising beeswax, sweet almond oil, and then your choice of natural and synthetic fragrance oils.

There are six scents to choose from, including Jasper, "a tart blend of black pepper, bergamot and jasmine with a wink of apricot and sweet lemon," and Scarlet Fever, "an exotic floral blend of rose and jasmine blended with warm notes of sandalwood, vanilla, and a kiss of clove."

Solid Perfume Locket Ring ($29)

The jewelry designs by Lisa Hoffman are scented with tiny, pearl-like spheres that smell like Japanese agarwood, Madagascar orchid, French clary sage, Tuscan fig, or Tunisian neroli. The earring design was inspired by vintage, Victorian-era earrings given to Hoffman by her husband.

"During [the Victorian era], it was considered gauche for women to wear their jewels out during the day, so earrings came with a casing to conceal the gems or diamonds until removed in the evening, like at the opera," Hoffman explained.

By the time her husband gifted her these earrings, she'd already started her collection of fine fragrances. After a day of research and development, she found herself covered in perfume samples (some good, some not so good, she admits) and had to hurry off to an appointment before she had time to wash the scents off.

"I wished I had a way to easily remove the perfume without having to scrub it off my skin. That's when I thought of those vintage earrings: Wouldn't it be wonderful if the casing could hold a fragrance, similar to the gemstones?" she pondered.

From there, Hoffman developed a line of jewelry that gave women a unique way to wear fragrance — a way that allows the scent to be easily removed since the fragrance never touches the skin. It's an excellent alternative for women with sensitive skin or allergies, and the beautiful designs the fragrance beads are encased in are a nice touch, as well.

This has to be one of the most innovative designs on our list, and definitely one of the most peculiar in terms of aesthetics. The OBO (Olfactory Body Object) Paris brand is still in its launching phase, but you can expect to see pieces for sale in the coming months. The designs are described as "the first wearable and leak-proof bottle of perfume" that's worn as jewelry.

Eight different varieties of perfume and many different designs, including bracelets, earrings, and necklaces, are offered. To apply, you remove the large, pearl-like sphere and touch the rollerball to your skin. The sphere reattaches to the jewelry with a strong magnet.

Kawaii-lovers, dessert-lovers, lovers of all things whimsical: this one's for you. Tiny Hands specializes in making miniature desserts that look and smell impressively real. Mei Pak, the designer behind it all, makes pretty much every kind of sweet treat you can think of, from rainbow cakes to macarons to s'mores to triple-scooped ice cream cones.

"I had always been obsessed with tiny things, especially food items," Pak said. "As a product to sell, I knew there were other foodies and miniature fans out there like me who would appreciate Tiny Hands jewelry."

As for the scented aspect of her designs, Pak acknowledges how scents can trigger memories and emotions. She wanted to play into that.

"People smile from ear to ear when they see and smell my jewelry," she said. "It's a real treat for food-lovers and makes for that perfectly sweet gift for them."

Scented Triple Scoop Ice Cream Cone Necklace ($38)

Drops of Jewelry specializes in scented jewelry and has so many options to choose from. This design is a bronze-plated locket that accommodates the designer's "diffuser dots," which are scented leather cutouts.

"I have always loved hand-stamped jewelry, and have so many pieces that mean something special to me because of the names, phrases, or verses that they display," owner Sara Radginski explained. "The vision was to merge this with our essential oil jewelry. We began with many hand-stamped items, and still carry some, but the business has slowly grown and we've begun incorporating new pieces and even designing our own unique stainless steel aromatherapy lockets."

Still, should you find yourself in need of a fragrance touch-up at any point in the day, all you have to do is open the locket and reapply to your pulse points.

"When I first started working with essential oils as an aromatherapist, I became enchanted by the rich history of the healing art and perfume," said Roxana Villa, designer behind the pretty goods at Illuminated Perfume.

She explains that in floriography (Victorian language of flowers), "tussie mussies" or "nosegays," which are perfume-filled lockets, were given to a beloved to convey a message. They were considered pieces of poetry that appealed to not just the eyes but to the nose as well. Villa's designs are inspired by those very nosegays of the Victorian era and open to reveal a separate little tin pan with a solid natural perfume.

"My goal is to connect individuals with nature," she said. "Since the nose is an open passageway to the brain, what better way to connect directly with the plants than through the experience of inhaling beautiful scents presented in a gorgeous locket?"
