Just recently, our beauty team was sitting around discussing the merits of white eye makeup, and then Zoë Kravitz showed up at the LA premiere of Divergent pulling off a pearly hue flawlessly. "I was inspired by her ethereal off-white dress, so I created an edgier and 'harder' eye look that contrasted with the softness of the lacy material," said makeup artist Kara Yoshimoto Bua.
Zoë's dramatic eye look started with the silvery, gray shade from the Chanel Quadra Eye Shadow in Variation ($59). With a fluffy angled brush, Bua applied the powder from the inner corners to the outer edges of lids. Then, the darkest shade in the palette was swept on the lower lash line almost like an underline. Bua complemented the eye look with a peachy blush on the cheeks and Coco Baume Hydrating Conditioning Lip Balm ($35). So, that's the right way to wear white after Labor Day.
