This Is the Only Goodbye to American Idol We Need, Thank You Very Much

Thursday night marked a final farewell to American Idol, and while tons of the show's alumni returned for the event, Kelly Clarkson had to miss out. Luckily, her Twitter game was strong all night long, and she shared a supercute video of her daughter, River, who wanted to say goodbye to American Idol one last time. Meanwhile, at the show itself, Carrie Underwood slayed the red carpet and the stage — twice over. Kelly pretaped a gorgeous medley of her own, featuring her biggest hits, including "A Moment Like This," her coronation song from season one. After her emotional rendition of "Piece by Piece" back in February, we'll take whatever we can get.
