Prince's Sister Can Barely Hold Back Sobs While Accepting an Award on His Behalf

Prince might have tragically passed away in April, but the legendary music icon hasn't stopped winning awards. His sister Tyka Nelson took the stage at the American Music Awards on Sunday to accept a trophy on his behalf in the top soundtrack category. His win for Purple Rain beat out the music for Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Suicide Squad, and Tyka could barely hold back her emotions while addressing the audience. "He had a goal to electrify the world," she began. "He told me he wanted to be known as the world's most prolific songwriter, and with 984 titles to his credit and counting, he has done just that." Tyka attended the show along with siblings Omarr, Alfred, Sharon, Norrine, and John and broke into small sobs after giving them a shout-out. Prince's family has been at war over his estate since his death, but it appears they were able to put aside their differences to honor their brother at the award show, making for a truly lovely moment.
