Kurt Sutter Canceled The Bastard Executioner Himself

In an interesting turn of events, FX show The Bastard Executioner was canceled by its own creator, Sons of Anarchy mastermind Kurt Sutter, after only one season. Kurt took out a full-page ad in The Hollywood Reporter to announce the news, citing audience disinterest as the main reason for his "heartbreaking" decision to end the medieval drama. "It's fantastic to get a good review [or] an award, but at the end of the day the only thing that matters, really, is numbers," he explained. "I don't want to write something that nobody's f*cking watching." While this is certainly a sad day for fans of the show, here's hoping there's much more TV brilliance to come from Kurt in the future.
