If you're a big Game of Thrones fan who can't stop wondering where all of the direwolves are, why there can't be more dragons, and if the White Walkers are ever going to show up in King's Landing, why not turn those thoughts and fears into a kickass Halloween costume worthy of Westeros? From giants to witches to wolves, there's a creature for everyone to dress up as on October 31.

01
White Walkers
HBO

White Walkers

  • What to wear: If you don't have the time or money to spend on fancy prosthetics, throw on a light-blue swimming cap to cover you hair, and then paint the rest of your face and hands light blue (make sure it's dark blue or black around your eyes, though). Blue-colored contacts would be a plus! To re-create those icy growths on his skull, wear a crown painted the same light blue as your face. As far as his outfit, get something as close to chainmail as you can (if all else fails, just spray-paint small, silver squares onto a black shirt).
  • How to act: The Night's King is a man of few words, so don't worry about having to be chatty this Halloween. Instead, walk around whichever party you're attending with your arms extended wide in a "Come at me, bro" position, and glare menacingly.
02
Dragons
HBO

Dragons

  • What to wear: Dany's three dragons would make an excellent group costume. You and two friends just have to each pick a color (red, green, and gold) and then pin some wings to your back or arms, glue some horns to a headband or hat, draw scales on your clothes, and you'll be good to go.
  • How to act: Fiery.
03
Greenseers
HBO

Greenseers

  • What to wear: You don't have to be an old dude like the Three-Eyed Raven, but you should think about wearing a heavy, dark coat or cloak and wrapping your arms and legs in fake tree vines or branches to mimic the look of someone being within a Weirwood tree.
  • How to act: Greenseers have the magical ability to look into the present and future through "green dreams" (prophetic dreams), so you'll want to exude an all-knowing air.
04
Whatever Benjen Stark Is (Basically an Early-Stage White Walker)
HBO

Whatever Benjen Stark Is (Basically an Early-Stage White Walker)

  • What to wear: Something similar to what the rest of the Night's Watch Crows would wear (boots, pants, a long-sleeved shirt, and a very furry coat, all in black), only covered in flecks of fake snow. Add in a scraggly brown wig, and some gray and blue face paint to make it look like you're a touch hypothermic.
  • How to act: Extremely mysterious, and silent (for the most part). You should also shiver every now and then.
05
Red Priestesses
HBO

Red Priestesses

  • What to wear: Melisandre is the Red Woman, so get yourself a long crimson-colored wig (pull your hair back on both sides of your head at the ears), and a flowy, long-sleeved red dress. The most striking part of her look is her signature necklace, so try to find some costume jewelry that looks similar.
  • How to act: Fierce as hell. Constantly discuss your love of fire and the Lord of the Light, and recite a few creepy spells. If one of your friends is feeling too sleepy to go to a Halloween party, it's your duty to bring them back to life.
06
Direwolves
HBO

Direwolves

  • What to wear: There are plenty of direwolves to choose from, so this is a great opportunity to grab a few friends so you can be each of the Stark children's loyal, furry companions. Throw on a pair of wolf ears and attach a furry tail to the back of your pants. If you're going as Ghost (Ghost + Jon Snow = adorable couples costume), make sure you keep everything in shades of white.
  • How to act: Loyal to a fault. It's finally time to show off your animal side!
07
Wights
HBO

Wights

  • What to wear: Paint a skeleton onesie or costume pale blue, and use makeup to make your skin (or lack thereof) look a little frosty. Paint dark circles around your eyes, and feel free to add a little blood around your mouth.
  • How to act: Silent and TERRIFYING.
08
Red Priests
HBO

Red Priests

  • What to wear: Unlike Red Priestesses, the garb Red Priests wear is a little less on the nose. Instead of a red dress, suit up in some dark pants and boots, paired with a black, long-sleeved shirt or leather jacket under some red-tinted chainmail. Add in a flaming sword to complete the costume.
  • How to act: Make your faith in R'hllor, the Lord of Light, known to literally everyone you pass on the street as annoyingly as possible.
09
Giants
HBO

Giants

  • What to wear: Unless you're already 20 feet tall, just forgo the height aspect of this costume and focus on finding the thickest, burliest, furriest coat and pants to wear. Wun Wun, a Wildling giant, wrapped his boots in string and cloth, and had a few animal bones hanging from his belt. Not to be a downer, but you could also have a few arrows sticking out of your costume in various places to drive it home. Make sure you wear a long dark wig and add in some facial hair, too.
  • How to act: Wun Wun wasn't the most eloquent of characters, so keep whatever you're saying short and simple.
10
Children of the Forest
HBO

Children of the Forest

  • What to wear: A Child of the Forest costume is going to be a little difficult to execute, but with enough time and planning, you can totally make it work. Our advice would be to get a green mesh dress, and then hit up your local craft store and buy a ton of fake vines, leaves, and moss in shades of dark green and brown to cover as much as your costume as you can. Wrap the vines around your arms and legs, and use any leftovers to create a headpiece.
  • How to act: Be very crafty, and one with nature. If anyone steps on a crunchy fallen leaf, shoot them some North West-worthy side-eye.
