Kristen Wiig Is Coming Back to TV in a New Series With Reese Witherspoon

If you've missed seeing Kristen Wiig on the small screen, help is on the way. The Saturday Night Live alum is executive producing and starring in a 10-episode comedy series for Apple. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the show is "inspired by Curtis Sittenfeld's upcoming short-story collection You Think It, I'll Say It" and will be produced by Reese Witherspoon's multimedia brand, Hello Sunshine. It's the third Apple series with Witherspoon at the helm, joining the untitled morning show drama that she will star in alongside Octavia Spencer and Jennifer Aniston.

Witherspoon shared her excitement about the project in an Instagram post on Wednesday and also revealed that she'd be making a cameo. "Total dream come true πŸ’« to be working with Kristen Wiig on a comedy for @Apple," she wrote. ". . .And there might be a special guest appearance by someone you know πŸ™‹πŸΌ because #FOMO is real!" The new Apple series marked Wiig's first time back on the small screen since leaving SNL after seven seasons in 2012. Since then, she's embarked on a movie career, starring in films like Bridesmaids, Ghostbusters, and most recently, Downsizing. We can't wait for Wiig's return!
