The scripted series is directed by Stephen Daldry and created and written by Peter Morgan, the mastermind behind the 2006 film The Queen starring Helen Mirren.

What It's About

The story centers around the political intrigues and romances that happened behind the scenes during the early reign of Queen Elizabeth II. It will focus on the second half of the 20th century, and each season (assuming Netflix greenlights it beyond season one) will explore a different decade of the Queen's ruling. As seen in the trailer, season one begins with the princess at age 25.
