While Rob's former flame Kristen Stewart was well known to Rob's fans, FKA Twigs is a bit more of a mystery, mostly because she was working away in England's underground R&B scene while Rob starred in massive blockbusters. Where did she come from? She first hit the music scene with her 2012 debut, EP1, but gained indie popularity with her 2013 release "Water Me," which featured Arca. What does FKA Twigs mean? She got the nickname "Twigs" because of the way her joints crack. She later added "FKA" (or "Formerly Known As") after another artist called Twigs complained about the use of her name.
Is she a party girl? No. In a 2013 interview with Pitchfork, FKA Twigs described herself as being "a little weird," a bit of a "loner," and a "quiet person." She said, "I was never the pretty girl at school. I'm tiny and mixed race. I grew up in a white area. I was always the loner. I was always kind of off — a little weird, wanting to be a ballet dancer or have opera lessons."
Does she have any music out now? Yes! In 2014, she released the album LP1, and she'll be hitting the music festival circuit over the next few months. Meanwhile, she released the "Pendulum" music video in January, and the video for "Glass and Patron" — the first single from her upcoming EP — came out in March. It's already amassed more than two million views on YouTube.

What did she do before she became a singer? FKA Twigs says she has almost always been focused on her music, but she is also a trained dancer. (Both of her parents are dancers.) She often posts videos of herself dancing and preparing for her tour on Instagram. She also revealed back in 2013 that she was working as a bartender on the weekends to help pay for her then-blossoming music career.
