Bachelor in Paradise's Demi Burnett and Kristian Haggerty Have Split: "It Is Best For Us"

Sad news, Bachelor in Paradise fans: season six couple Demi Burnett and Kristian Haggerty have called it quits. On Oct. 31, Demi shared the news in an Instagram post, explaining why they decided to part ways. "With a heavy heart full of love for one another we have decided it is best for us to take a step back from our relationship. We ultimately want what is best for us in the long run and for us right now, that means being apart and growing individually," she wrote. "We will forever be proud of the impact our love story has made and we hope it has helped others feel more accepted and confident within themselves."

When Demi went on Bachelor in Paradise this past season, she had a casual relationship with Kristian back home. Demi connected with Derek Peth early on, but, despite that, she couldn't stop thinking about Kristian. So when Kristian made a surprise entrance on Paradise, the two decided to work on their relationship. There were some challenges, including Demi being comfortable with her sexuality, but they fell in love and Demi proposed to Kristian. The duo broke barriers by being the first same-sex couple to leave Paradise together. On the reunion show, Demi revealed that she moved to LA in order to be closer to her fiancée. But, ultimately, they decided it was best to amicably split.
