This Dad's Song About the Phenomenon That Is Decorating For Christmas Early Is Spot On

While waiting in line to pick up a prescription at my local pharmacy, I nudged my fiancé and nodded toward the holiday section. It was Oct. 12, so it's not out-of-this-world insane that I expected to see pumpkin and witch decorations adorning the aisle, and thus not surprising that I was shocked to see snowmen, Santa Clauses, and tree lights. I don't remember this phenomenon of preparing and decorating for Christmas in the Fall occurring when I was a kid, but now it's Halloween in July and Christmas in September for all of the big-box stores, and even though decorating for Christmas earlier makes you happier, it appears I'm not alone in feeling like this is all just too much.

In a hilarious video posted to Facebook, the Holderness Family parodied Bell Biv Devoe's "Poison" and created a new song about the insanity that is decorating for the holidays early. Instead of the line being "This girl is poison," Penn Holderness whines, "You guys, it's AUTUMN." And he's too right. Whether your rainbow Christmas tree is already up or not, this video is absolutely hysterical (and spot on) — see it in full above.
