The Cookies & Cups Cookbook by Shelly Jaronsky

The Cookies & Cups Cookbook by Shelly Jaronsky

I 100 percent prefer savory over sweet, and I rarely get excited about baking or sweets-focused cookbooks. But The Cookies & Cups Cookbook ($14) by Shelly Jaronsky is an exception — every page is gorgeous and makes me crave dessert. With over 125 unique recipes (marbled-chocolate hazelnut cookies, peppermint patties cake, and salty browned butter chocolate chip cookies, just to name a few), it's full of dessert recipes I actually haven't seen before. The major bonus is it does have a few sections of savory recipes at the end — I’ve got my eye on the garlic bread pasta on page 243. — Erin Cullum, assistant editor, Food

Epic Cooking Oils

Epic Cooking Oils

Sourcing good lard, duck fat, and beef tallow can be tricky, which is why I find the latest product line from Epic (a jerky and energy bar maker) particularly exciting. Available as a trio ($27) or individually ($9), they're a great way to add flavor to everything from roast potatoes to pie crust. — Nicole Perry, contributor, Food

Something to Food About: Exploring Creativity With Innovative Chefs

Something to Food About: Exploring Creativity With Innovative Chefs

Anthony Bourdain wrote the intro to Questlove’s newest book, Something to Food About: Exploring Creativity With Innovative Chefs ($30), out April 12, and before reading anything by Questlove, I was intrigued by this endorcement. The book portrays the equal parts gritty and mesmerizing aspects of the restaurant world. You won't be able to look away from images like silver tightly bound in Saran Wrap and dead chickens surrounded by Spring produce. And prepare to learn about meat glue, just one of many detailed descriptions of the frankenfoods chefs create. It's the most delicious work of horror you can’t stop flipping through. — Anna Monette Roberts, editor, Food

Speak Wines

Speak Wines

Possibly the most adorable wine bottles I've seen, Speak Wines is like a greeting card and a delicious bottle of wine in one! Featuring Malbec and Torrontés from Argentina, the wine is lovely and rich while the labels are inspiring and powerful. How fierce is "She believed she could. So she did"? I'm especially crushing on the Collection 2 Torrontés 2015 Set ($120). These would be perfect bridesmaids gifts for my Summer wedding! — Brandi Milloy, host and producer, POPSUGAR Studios

The Quick Six Fix: 6 Ingredients, 6 Minutes Prep, 6 Minutes Cleanup

The Quick Six Fix: 6 Ingredients, 6 Minutes Prep, 6 Minutes Cleanup

It's sometimes hard when you work around delicious and amazing food all day long to go home and still feel inspired to cook, but thankfully my friend and amazing chef Stuart O'Keeffe just debuted an extremely useful cookbook, The Quick Six Fix: 6 Ingredients, 6 Minutes Prep, 6 Minutes Cleanup ($17), that's perfect for anyone who's a little short on time (but still wants to eat well at home). Personally I love the almond fig roasted chicken, and it's easily going to become a new staple in my own home cooking. — Nicole Iizuka, senior producer, POPSUGAR Studios

High-Heat Nonstick Pizza Pan

High-Heat Nonstick Pizza Pan

It’s about damn time I learn how to grill a pizza, and this High-Heat Nonstick Pizza Pan ($40) seems like just the piece of cooking equipment I need to prevent a huge, clumpy dough mess from sticking to my grill rack. — AMR

07
Butcher Box

Butcher Box

High-quality, humanely raised meat comes with a hefty price tag, which is why I'm all about Butcher Box. Like a CSA box but for meat, Butcher Box ($129 per box, including shipping) delivers 15 to 20 meals on a monthly, every-other-month, or every-three-months basis. Subscribers can opt in to beef only, beef and chicken, beef and pork, or a selection of all three, making it a great option for nearly any omnivore. — NP

Blue Bottle Cold Brew Cans

Blue Bottle Cold Brew Cans

Blue Bottle is some of my favorite coffee in San Francisco, and these new cold-brew cans are the cutest form of caffeine that's perfect for Spring and Summer (not that it gets hot here, but I love iced coffee). Unlike the company's other popular iced coffee (the New Orleans), this one is dairy free — it's just cold, dark roast coffee, which is what I prefer. Eight-ounce cans are available individually or in packs of four at Blue Bottle locations and Whole Foods stores. — EC

America's Test Kitchen: Master of the Grill

America's Test Kitchen: Master of the Grill

Despite doing some grilling in my life, I by no means consider myself a master . . . but I'd like to be! America's Test Kitchen: Master of the Grill ($30), out April 26, seems like the guide to get me there. — AMR

David's Tea Monk's Blend

David's Tea Monk's Blend

An unusual blend of oolong and jasmine pearl green tea, David's Tea Monk's Blend ($12 and up) is subtly floral, almost creamy, and will appeal to fans of both varietals. — NP

The Smoking Gun

The Smoking Gun

Have you ever been to a restaurant and been served a beautiful rack of lamb covered in a cloche filled with smoke? Or pulled up a seat at the bar to be served a mason jar filled with the intoxicating scent of campfire? Well PolyScience had debuted its smoking gun ($100) a while ago, but I finally pulled the trigger and bought one for myself. I have to wonder what life was like before this tool was in my arsenal. My co-workers can attest — we've been mixing up all sorts of smoky negronis and campfire-laced cocktails for office happy hours, and I just tried a cold-smoked salmon dish at home and it was beyond lovely. — NI

Watermelon Keg Tapping Kit

Watermelon Keg Tapping Kit

I have always wanted to tap a watermelon, and this Watermelon Keg Tapping Kit ($20) makes it seem remarkable easy. I’m envisioning watermelon margaritas all Spring and Summer long. — AMR

La Boite: The Bloody Mary Spice Master Collection

La Boite: The Bloody Mary Spice Master Collection

Have you heard of Jim Meehan, one of most important American mixologists? He’s partnered with Lior Lev Sercarz, owner of La Boite spices, to create The Bloody Mary Spice Master Collection ($60), a set of four spice mixes complete with recipe cards to create four unique Bloody Mary drinks for every spirit — from vodka to tequila. I'm pleased that spices have made their way into the cocktail world. I know these will be worth "chewing" on. — AMR

14
Ball Pour and Measure Cap

Ball Pour and Measure Cap

Oftentimes, it's the simplest products that are most appealing; case in point: Ball Wide Mouth Pour and Measure Cap ($6 with a quart jar), which makes storing pantry goods in mason jars all the more practical, as it eliminates the need to use a measuring cup. — NP

Food52 (Not)Recipes App

Food52 (Not)Recipes App

I don't ever use apps for recipes, but Food52's new app is not that, as evidenced in its name. It's more of a community-based app for food-lovers to share ideas and inspiration. It's a visually focused platform reminiscient of Instagram, and you can explore hashtags, see what others are cooking, and ask other users questions. It's a place for people who do care to see what you're eating for dinner. — EC

SpikedSeltzer

As someone who probably drinks more seltzer than is probably recommended, I’m extremely excited about the idea of SpikedSeltzer, which is exactly as the name implies, an alcoholic seltzer (six percent per can). I have yet to try it myself, but the Indian River Grapefruit is calling me for warm nights or lazy beach days . . . — AMR

Sprinkles Black Velvet Cupcakes

My birthday is in April, and I know what I want to chow down on: Sprinkles New Black Velvet Cupcakes, out April 4. According to the bakery, the Black Velvet is the "deepest, darkest, most chocolatey cake topped with whipped chocolate ganache." It sounds like a chocoholic's dream. — AMR

OXO Containers

OXO Containers

I've tried pretty much every glass storage container out there and — no surprise here — OXO's new entry in this category is a winner. Available individually and in bundles (the 20-piece set for $50 is a particularly good value), the containers are sturdy, they're truly leakproof, and, thanks to a tab on the corner of the lid, the lids are easy to remove. — NP
