14 Rehab Addict-Inspired Nurseries Nicole Curtis Would Love

Rehab Addict and Beach Flip fans flipped recently when they learned star Nicole Curtis is pregnant with her second child. The true believer in restoration over renovation and self-proclaimed lover of "old houses, old people, old dogs" will soon have a brand-new DIY project on her hands — and an infant sibling for her teenage son, Ethan. We can only imagine how cool vintage-lover Curtis's nursery will be, so we've put together a gallery of inspiring ideas in anticipation!

Nicole would appreciate the beams on the ceiling, and a baby would love the sensory delights of this nursery — from the canopy/campaign tent trimmed with multicolored, printed flags to the earthy Moroccan-style leather pouf. The basic bookcase does double duty with the help of lined baskets and stores not only picture books, but also toys, clothing, and anything a busy mom needs to have on hand.

Modernism doesn't have to mean cold or soulless. Interior designer Will Meyer of Meyer/Davis Studio in New York City dreamed up this nursery for his upstate New York country home. The stained dark wood wall is an element that Nicole would savor. The arc floor lamp adds an elegant focal point beside the mini Barcelona chair and the yummy-looking shag rug.

Project Nursery

Who says newborns need brand new? Nicole would be all about the reclaimed-wood puzzle piece of a wall gracing this budget-conscious nursery. Peel-and-stick wood panels will easily give you the look of a reclaimed-wood accent wall, and as this babe's creative parents prove, lasercut-plywood frames will turn letters and animal silhouettes into fun, educational decor.

Project Nursery

Yes, a viral pop hit can inspire a nursery. "The Fox (What Does the Fox Say)" supplied the theme for this appealingly rustic and whimsical space that pairs repainted vintage furniture finds with linens from Serena and Lily and artwork from Etsy. The key here is a clear concept and focused palette.

Refusing to be hampered by a minuscule budget, these parents turned this small room into a pink and gray boudoir fit for a tiny princess. They sourced furniture from Ikea, found their vintage-style chandelier on Overstock.com, and culled other decor from friends. The mom even crocheted the shag rug. Impressive — especially because she completed the floor covering in three weeks!

Come fly with me, baby, à la the Rat Pack. Nicole would be wowed by the rococo glam of this Las Vegas nursery inspired by the Encore Resort casino. Hollywood regency meets uptown granny glitz in the form of a striped carousel canopy, butterfly wallpaper, silk drapes, and curvy Victorian furnishings. The lesson here? Go big or go home.

Transformation alert! These parents ditched the dubious old carpet, peeling paint, and deteriorating baseboards for a palette that makes the most of contrasting colors and clean lines. Long drapes seem to heighten the ceiling of this small space. An Eames molded plastic rocker takes it to the next design level — and would provide a mom like Nicole with a spot to nurse the little one.

No one puts baby in a corner — unless that corner happens to be beautifully wallpapered with a sweet Chinoiserie motif! We're betting Nicole would appreciate this resourceful way to put an awkward space to good use. The dog lover in her is sure to enjoy the quirky dachshund ceramic, too.

We love how steeped in light this nursery is, and it's painted in Nicole's favorite hue: white! Who can resist a tepee — here paired with playful banners and balloons? The Beni Ourain-style, lattice-design rug gives the baby a soft place to crawl on the hardwood floor.

A Beautiful Mess

How cool is this fun nursery filled with vintage toys and furnishings, designed by mom Sherri Bemis of the bands Eisley and Perma? Bemis has described her house as "quirky, whimsical, childlike, and a bit cluttered but also romantic!" Her rule: "Don't decorate with anything you don't absolutely love. I also wanted to create a world that was fun for kids to grow up in. So the furniture is to be jumped on, the 'things' are to be touched." Nicole can, no doubt, relate!

Cuckoo4Design

We're charmed by this delicious, unexpected palette of green, gold, and pink. The midcentury-modern-style chandelier and metallic dots, both from Etsy, are imaginative twists on vintage style — and great nursery ideas for a retro-minded rehabber like Nicole.

Brittany

Throwing shade has never seemed so . . . cozy! Take a cue from blogger Brittany of Brittany Makes, and don't be afraid to embrace the darkness — and its drama — when it comes to the walls of a north-facing nursery. The light mustard, midcentury-mod armchairs mix well with the bright, rich Persian-style rug.

Decor Fix

Designer Heather Freeman of Decor Fix kept it light and bright for her daughter Gemma's room. White is also Nicole's signature color — here it's mixed with pops of color in the form of eye-catching mint-green flower medallions and an adorable multicolored mobile that will stimulate a baby's senses.

Laura Resen for domino

Charlotte, NC, boutique owner Laura Vinroot Poole sidestepped standard pink and "too fluffy" decor when it came to this gender-neutral nursery for her daughter Fifi. Nicole would love the retro-style chandelier and scarlet-framed vintage Dick and Jane prints in this refreshing mint green space.
