After weeks of speculation that Jimmy Fallon would be taking the reins from Jay Leno (and the hosts themselves singing about the matter), NBC has officially announced that Fallon will take over The Tonight Show. We're hoping that one staple of Late Night With Jimmy Fallon comes with the host: the skits! Fallon's many memorable sketches are one of our favorite things about his show, so in celebration of the news, we're sharing our favorite skits from his Late Night run.
NBC has confirmed what we all knew was coming: Jimmy Fallon will replace Jay Leno as host of The Tonight Show in the Spring of 2014. Leno will be passing the torch after 22 years, and while Fallon's replacement is still to be determined, it's been rumored that Saturday Night Live's Seth Meyers could take over. Though it seems like just yesterday that Fallon started his tenure as a late-night host, I'm a huge fan of the work he's done on Late Night, so I can't wait to see him in his new, well-deserved time slot — just as long as he keeps those hilarious skits and musical numbers coming.

We're also looking at other top headlines, including Angelina Jolie's school for girls in Afghanistan, Shia LaBeouf's latest comments on his feud with Alec Baldwin, and Jay Leno and David Letterman's musical collaboration. For the past few weeks, the world has been buzzing about whether Jimmy Fallon is poised to take over The Tonight Show when Leno's contract is up at the end of 2014. But how do the actual hosts feel about all the controversy? Last night, during the transition between The Tonight Show and Late Night With Jimmy Fallon, the guys belted out (OK, so it wasn't actually their voices) a duet expressing their feelings to the tune of "Tonight" from West Side Story. Of course, the result is hilarity.

So this is what happens when you get Jimmy Fallon, Nick Offerman, and Blake Shelton together right before Easter. This week the trio (plus show editor Chris Tartaro on the drums) landed on the Late Night With Jimmy Fallon stage clad in yellow feathers and bawking to the tune of The Lumineers' hit song, "Ho Hey." Their stage name? The Chickeneers, naturally. I know it sounds silly, and it is, but it's also a wonderful and oddly sweet pick-me-up. I wonder if they're available for birthday parties.
