Frozen Princesses Elsa and Anna Get Artistic Makeovers
Over the last few years, artists have created some impressive works of art inspired by Disney princesses, from silly odes to pop culture to just seriously beautiful digital paintings. And now that Anna and Elsa have joined the ranks, it's no surprise that the Frozen fandom has spilled over into the online art world (after all, it's even inspiring wedding themes). See some of our favorite artistic interpretations of the newest Disney royals now, and if you'd like to see a sexy, NSFW version of Kristoff, check him out here!
Elsa as Daenerys Targaryen
Artist Sam Tsui created these Disney princesses as Game of Thrones characters.
From the artist: "Both Elsa from Frozen and Daenerys spend some time learning what it means to be a queen — although one has mystical ice-related abilities and the other is immune to fire and gave birth to three baby dragons, the platinum hair and their shared journey from meek and repressed little girls to badass queens made this choice a no-brainer." Thanks to digital artist Sakimi Chan, we can see what Disney princesses would look like as men. Illustration by Sakimi Chan
College Students Elsa and Anna
Artist Rubén imagined what Disney princesses would look like as college students. He even gave them backstories.
"The two sisters are some of the most popular girls in the university. Elsa has left her past behind, and she's studying architecture. She has started dating a guy a little bit, and his last name is Frost!
Anna, unlike Elsa, is fearless, playful and optimistic. She is always looking for new adventures with her boyfriend, Kristoff. She wants to be a preschool teacher."
Adventure Time Elsa and Anna
This artist created Adventure Time-themed Disney princess art. This is definitely what the ladies would look like if they were on the animated Cartoon Network show!
Grumpy Cat Elsa
Artist Eric Proctor inserted famous feline Grumpy Cat into classic Disney princess scenes to hilarious perfection. The title of this one is "Let It No."
Sloth Elsa and Anna
These sloth Disney princesses are too cute! These Frozen-themed sloths are a new addition.
Star Wars Elsa
This artist reimagines Disney princesses as Star Wars characters. Here is Elsa as a Sith.
Historical Elsa
Artist Claire Hummel dressed her Disney princesses in historically accurate costumes. The artist describes Elsa's outfit:
"Frozen is purportedly set in the 1830s-40s, but I've been obsessed with finding a style that could marry her coronation gown with her ice gown more seamlessly; the open robes you see during the Regency era, including those being worn by Scandinavian royalty at the time, seemed a particularly apt analog for he weird underarm-cape thing. You also see her mom wearing something very similar for something like 10 years, so it's not a huge stretch to think it could be a popular look in Arendelle."

Harry Potter Anna and Elsa
Frozen characters as Hogwarts students is another popular fan art theme, but I think this version is especially creative and fitting. This artist drew Anna as Helga Hufflepuff and Elsa as Rowena Ravenclaw. Illustrations by deviantART user lsmyang
Wicked Anna and Elsa
Artist Ann Marcellino put a Wicked twist on the film's heroines. She wrote, "I definitely got a few Wicked vibes from Frozen, so I thought it'd be fun to dress Elsa and Anna in Elphaba and Glinda's school uniforms." Illustration by Ann Marcellino
