This 2008 Video of Trump Praising the Clintons Is Going Crazy Viral

The very idea that Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump used to be on friendly terms seems like it's straight out of a work of fiction. But their relationship is well documented, including photos of the Clintons attending Trump's wedding to Melania Trump and a 2008 video of Trump praising the Clintons that's now going viral with only two weeks left until the election. Josh Jordan, a political writer, tweeted the interview Trump gave to NY1, and it has since received more than 20,000 retweets and 23,000 favorites.

"I think she's going to go down at a minimum as a great senator," Trump says. "I think she's a great wife to a president, and I think Bill Clinton was a great president," he adds, mentioning that under President Bill Clinton, "the economy was doing great" and "we had no war" and "everybody was happy."

Of course, the comments seem shocking given that during the 2016 election, Trump has said that Clinton failed during her time as a senator, he has trashed Bill's record as president, and he has blamed Hillary for her husband's infidelities. It's also jarring to hear him say that he thought Hillary was treated unfairly during the 2008 primary against President Obama. "I thought she was unnecessarily roughed up. She took some pretty hard hits," he says.

"I think that she's a wonderful woman. I think that she's a little bit misunderstood. You know, Hillary's a very smart woman, a very tough woman — that's fine — but she's also a very nice person." How things have changed now that his nickname for her is "nasty woman."
