The Meaning Behind Beyoncé's "Love Drought" Might Surprise You

When Beyoncé released her new album, Lemonade, fans lost their minds mulling over the hidden meanings behind some of her lyrics. While "Becky with the good hair" has yet to be identified and the inspiration behind "Daddy Lessons" is still unclear, we finally know what her hit "Love Drought" is about — and it's not Jay Z! The song's writer, Ingrid Burley, recently sat down with Genius and she spilled a little bit of tea (or should we say lemonade) about how the track actually stemmed from her frustration with Bey's label, Parkwood Entertainment. When two people from the label lied to her, saying that Beyoncé wasn't listening to new music, Ingrid said she sat down and put her emotions into lyrics. See how the rest of the song played out in her interview above!
