This Celebrity Baby Photographer Has the Best Photo Ideas, and Um, We're Stealing 'Em All

Jessie Marrero, a photographer who splits her time between California and New Jersey, has a knack for taking picture-perfect photos of newborns — so much so that her client list includes celebrities like Fabolous, Carlos Beltran, and Coco and Ice T. And recently, Jessie got the opportunity of a lifetime: she was asked to photograph Kevin Hart's adorable son, Kenzo Kash.

"I have always had a passion for art and newborns, so it was pretty easy to combine them both," Jessie told POPSUGAR. "My career took off 10 years ago when my husband gave me my first single-lens reflex camera. From there, I decided to follow my dream of being a completely self-taught professional maternity and newborn photographer."

And although Jessie is enjoying the fruits of her labor today, getting to where she is now didn't come without times of hardship. "My highest peak [in my career] occurred at the same time as my breast cancer diagnosis," she explained. "And I continued to shoot, build an empire, and market myself all while undergoing nine surgeries on top of treatment. Here I am today, alive and well, doing what I love!"

For Jessie, inspiration comes from various places, and while she's the first to admit that coming up with sweet ideas has always been a strong suit of hers, at the end of the day, she loves making the parents happy.

"Each baby is different, so their session should be, too," she said. "By knowing what the goals are for the parents, it allows me to personalize their session. I have some parents who absolutely love organics, fabrics, and just the newborn curl, and I have some parents that love the idea of adorable baby props."
