As far as 2017 is concerned, Kristen Bell has had a pretty amazing year. Between her roles in A Bad Moms Christmas, CHiPS, and The Good Place and her recurring voice role in the animated show Big Mouth, there's no doubt that her schedule was a little more than busy these past 12 months. Despite juggling several professional projects at once, she still had time to show the world how real she is in the parenting department. In fact, when it came to their two daughters, Delta and Lincoln, Kristen and her husband, Dax Shepard, may have had the best year ever. Scroll through to see some of our favorite moments from Kristen in 2017.
In an interview with Us Weekly, Kristen opened up about how she "switches" kids with Dax if she finds herself getting more frustrated than usual with one of her children. "If I'm talking to the 2-and-a-half-year-old and I'm done, I'll just be like, 'We've got to switch. I don't want to talk to this kid anymore.' It's not about perfection, but it is about being thoughtful and not reactive. So in order to not be reactive, we switch kids a lot." Talk about saving yourself from a few headaches.
The mama of two shared a hilarious photo on Instagram of a Christmas ornament with Anna's head knocked off along with a caption: "This will be the cover of my autobiography and it will be titled 'My children keep me grounded.'" Spoiler alert for those who may not know: Kristen voices Anna in Frozen . . . ouch!
Honestly, we don't blame her.
If you haven't seen Dax Shepard's incredible interview on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, you need to ASAP. He doled out some life-changing advice to the audience members that you're definitely going to want to keep in mind the next time you and your partner get into it. Plus, he revealed a few of each of their flaws, because like Kristen, he keeps it real. Bottom line: Kristen really married a winner. And no, that wasn't sarcasm.
She uploaded a photo of a — ahem — homemade something to Instagram with the caption: "Serious question: what are you supposed to do with all the beautiful garbage that your kids give you? #momlife." Trust us, we've all been there.
Kristen was pretty open and honest when she explained that her biggest parenting complaint is all about not getting enough shut-eye. "I think [not sleeping] fuels everything," she said in an interview with Us Weekly. "It fuels my lack of patience with my kids sometimes. If I had had a full night's rest, I would be able to be more patient with them sometimes." Right on, Mama.
Apparently, Kristen thought she could sneak in a quick pumping session during a work call without anyone noticing. And boy, was she wrong. She admitted while on The Ellen DeGeneres Show after being teased by her costar Mila Kunis that she "didn't realize [she] was on a 200-inch screen on speakers in a conference room."
Next time you're in a Pull-Up or diaper bind, just whip out a hair tie à la Kristen and you're good to go. The funny mom posted this hysterical hack to Instagram, saying, "Quick fix for a broken pull up when you're on an airplane? Hair tie. BOOM. Next question."
If there's one incident many parents can relate to, it's this classic "whoops." Kristen went on The Talk to chat about her most embarrassing parenting moment, saying very candidly, "Oh, they've walked in on us having sex."
Even though Kristen voiced Anna in Frozen, she switched gears at the request of her daughter and played Elsa for a change this past Halloween. So if anyone should be singing "Let It Go," it's her.
The actress appeared on Late Night With Seth Meyers to dish about her marriage and the incredible pranks they play on each other. "My husband googled from my phone, as a prank, 'How do I get away with murdering my husband?'" Seth then asked, "What's the prank though?" to which she responded, "That I'm on some watch list I guess." Gotta love the banter!
Kristen and Dax stopped by The Ellen DeGeneres Show to talk about their joint movie CHiPs when things took a hilarious turn. In an effort to make her breasts look more full for shooting, Kristen didn't pump for an entire day, adding that it was her "version of Christian Bale losing 125 pounds or something."
Age is just a number, right? Well, not according to Kristen's 3-year-old.
