Complete Strangers Threw an Impromptu Baby Shower For Adoptive Parents on a Plane

Thirty-three-year-old Dustin Moore and his wife, Caren, weren't expecting their Nov. 9 flight home from Colorado to California to be particularly eventful. After picking up their daughter, whom they recently adopted, both Dustin and Caren simply wanted to get home with their 8-day-old ASAP. Over the last nine years, Dustin and Caren had experienced the stress that comes with miscarriages, fertility treatments, and navigating the adoption process, so when a bunch of passengers on their plane home banded together to throw them an impromptu baby shower, they were overcome with joy.

"The first time I held my daughter? It's hard to explain, but it almost felt like I was reunited with someone I loved deeply but hadn't seen in a long time," Dustin told POPSUGAR. "I was listening outside the room when she was born, and the minute I heard her cries, I started crying, thinking to myself: 'That's her! That's my daughter.' I held her, all I could do was keep whispering her name and saying hello, holding her close. I felt incredibly peaceful, joyful all at once."
