On Saturday, Jan. 28, Canada's Prime Minister Justin Trudeau responded to President Trump's refugee ban with a message of his own. "To those fleeing persecution, terror & war, Canadians will welcome you," he wrote, "regardless of your faith. Diversity is our strength #WelcomeToCanada." In a follow-up tweet, Trudeau shared a photo of himself with a young refugee using the hashtag #WelcomeToCanda and later assured Canadian citizens that they would not be affected by Trump's ban.

Other countries, including France, Germany, and Scotland, have also expressed their support for refugees following Trump's controversial executive order. Read Justin Trudeau's welcoming message to refugees ahead.
