Puppies, Penguins, and Kittens Unite For Puppy Bowl X

It was impossible not to squee your way through Animal Planet's Puppy Bowl X! Ref Dan Schachner returned to call the adorableness of puppies being puppies, Meep the Bird tweeted, and even Miss Piggy stopped by to check out the action. Several of the adoptable pups were called for excessive cuteness — with most being too caught up with chasing each other's tails and the scattered chew toys than scoring any goals in the football-field box. With penguin cheerleaders and a kitty-filled halftime show, this year's Puppy Bowl gave the Super Bowl serious competition. Here are a few of our favorite highlights.

Fierce Battle

And they're off! Puppy Bowl X kicked off with the puppies loving all the action. The water bowl in the end zone proved to be a fun distraction for some pups. But Ginger got on board, scoring a touchdown!

Penguin Cheerleaders!

Let's be honest — the penguin cheerleaders were a definite Cute Overload sideline distraction.

Kitten Halftime Show

Everyone went crazy over the kitten halftime show that also featured Keyboard Cat.

Synchronized Action

There was even synchronized cat-dance action!

Kitties!

Heart-meltingly cute! And all the kitties that were featured in the Puppy Bowl X halftime show are also available for adoption.

Go, Puppies, Go!

The high-spirited game got back to the action with more penguin cheerleaders.

Mandy Scores a Touchdown!

Yay! Mandy scored two touchdowns in the third quarter! She made the list for MVP, which was decided by viewer votes this year.

So Many Chew Toys!

The second half was filled with tail-chasing action and lots of toy-chewing fun. Lauren proved to be a big player, scoring four touchdowns, tying the record from Puppy Bowl XIII, and winning MVP! A hamster hero came to the rescue after a generator blew, and Michelle Obama was caught cheering after a touchdown. It was a pup-tacular Puppy Bowl X!
