Camping is an awesome option if you're looking to take an affordable vacation. Plus, you get to enjoy nature — something that's truly priceless. America is filled with incredible places to camp, so we rounded up the absolute best national parks where you should pitch a tent. Here's the top US destinations for your next trip!

01

Arches National Park, UT

Devils Garden Campground is open all year long and is incredibly popular — make sure to book your trip well in advance! The colorful arches that gave the park its name are a sight worth seeing and exploring.

Hiking is a great option here, but if that's not your thing, the park also offers biking and backpacking. Make sure to stargaze when the sun goes down — the views are out of this world. You can't see stars like that anywhere else.

02

Yellowstone National Park, WY

This is the world's first national park! It also has the world's largest concentration of geysers. If you love animals, you'll be impressed by the bison, grizzly bears, and wolves — it has one of the last intact ecosystems in this type of terrain.

There are 12 campgrounds to choose from and the locations are spread throughout the park. Make sure to try out some activities like boating, bicycling, and fishing.

03

Grand Canyon National Park, AZ

The majestic views are only one of many reasons camping at Grand Canyon Nation Park is amazing. There are two camping sites offered — the South Rim is the more popular area to go while the North Rim is more secluded yet more difficult to get to. No matter which place you choose, it's going to be amazing.

While visiting, make sure to take a hike through the canyons and go whitewater rafting — both activities are big adventures. You can also ride a mule through the park!

04

Acadia National Park, ME

This is the first national park on the East coast and it has the tallest mountain on the East coast. It's safe to say it's one of the coolest locations in that region of America. The variety of campgrounds offered are easy to book.

The park has 6,000 lakes and ponds to visit — that's a lot of water! There are also many hiking trails that work for a variety of skill sets. This place is a total paradise in the Summer and Fall.

05

Glacier National Park, MT

Prepare to ogle at Glacier National Park's extensive lakes surrounded by snow-capped mountains. This place is great for thrill-seekers; you can go zip-lining, rafting, cross-country skiing, or Jeep exploring while on your trip. Choose from one of the 13 camping grounds offered on a first-come, first-served basis.

While visiting, check out a guided tour of an area of the park. It's a great way to learn the history behind the nature.

06

Yosemite National Park, CA

Most known for its breathtaking waterfalls, Yosemite National Park has 13 campgrounds for you to choose from. You can enjoy the huge meadows, towering Sequoia trees, and impressive Sierra mountains depending on your preference by picking which area best fulfills your interests.

There is so much to do at this park; it's impossible to get bored. The area offers horseback riding, rock climbing, hiking, and so much more. It's also an awesome place for bird watching — the park is a habitat for over 165 species.
