There's no writer quite like J.R.R. Tolkien, who is far and away one of the most influential authors of all time, laying the groundwork for so many fiction-fantasy novels to come. To this day, I possess an overwhelming appreciation for both The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit. In fact, I think I'll go home and watch a bunch of Tolkien movies tonight while wearing my boyfriend's Bilbo Baggins Snuggie (yep, I bought it for him). Sounds like the perfect evening to me!

In honor of one of the best book series ever to grace the earth, I've compiled a list of inspiring Tolkien quotes pulled from both The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings. Today is a great day, my friends.
