We've seen some pretty wild beauty challenges on the internet recently, but the "100-layers challenges" circulating on YouTube are by far the most bizarre.
Beauty personalities all over the web have been slathering their skin, hair, and nails in 100 layers of every common beauty product, including highlighter, mascara, even the Kylie Lip Kit (ouch). The results are incredibly painful to watch but also oddly fascinating to see.
If you thought it didn't get any crazier than the original Polish Mountain, think again. We've rounded up the most bizarre 100-layers challenge videos from YouTube that will make you cringe, crack up, and then cringe again.
100 Layers of Kylie Lip Kit
YouTube personality Joey Graceffa decided to paint on 100 coats of Kylie's superdurable liquid lipsticks. Joey layered on some of Kylie's brightest hues, including Mary Jo K, Skylie, and Freedom.
We already know how tough it is to remove her durable lip formulas, so watching Joey peel off the Kylie Lip Kit mountain made us pucker up in pain.
100 Layers of Foundation
Jeely took the plunge and coated her face in 100 layers of full-coverage foundation. Her results were similar to a glossy Halloween face mask. What's even harder to watch than packing on the product is watching her struggle to get it off using only makeup wipes.
100 Layers of Liquid Eyeliner
Lizzy of What Would Lizzy Do amplified her winged-liner look by tracing it on 100 times. While she was able to maintain her flawless feline flick, her layered liner clumped and cracked.
100 Layers of Highlighter
Alissa Ashley's spin on the challenge had her dusting 100 swipes of different illuminator formulas on her cheekbones. As she packed on each layer, her highlight went from beaming to strobed AF.
100 Layers of Mascara
The mascara installation of the 100 layers challenge is by far the scariest. Just a few coats of mascara can easily cause fine lashes to shed, so watching Nicole Skyes rack up 100 applications to her poor lashes was particularly terrifying (and so was the removal process).
100 Layers of Latex
This YouTuber patted 100 layers of a latex face peel onto his face. His rendition of the challenge was by far the most painful removal to watch.
100 Layers of Face Mask
After coating her face in 100 layers of foundation, it was only right that Jeely followed up with a purifying face mask . . . using 100 layers, of course. As the formula dried down, it created a leather-like texture on her skin, and it didn't come off without taking a few hairs along with it. Ouch!
