Rose gold has infiltrated home decor, jewelry, and even your hair. Its next target? Your face.

Metallics of all kinds will end up on your lips, eyes, brows, and cheekbones in 2017. New products like the Metalmorphosis 005 Kits created by leading makeup artist Pat McGrath will provide a liquid metal finish. And if that's not enough shine, you can expect glitter everywhere and glossy skin, brought to life with pearly highlighters.

Like glitter, metallic makeup provides reflection and texture. Michelle Clark, a senior makeup artist for MAC Cosmetics, says the recent "strobing" phenomenon — applying highlighter where light would naturally hit your face — signaled a growing demand for glowing skin: "Metallic makeup is a different way to add a bold statement to the face that involves light reflection and saturation."

Clark is a fan of pure metal on the lid: "It's quite futuristic and cool." If you want to go more subtle, she suggests adding a metallic dimension to a smoky eye by applying rose gold eye shadow on the inner eye (she loves MAC Cosmetics Pigment in Copper Sparkle). You can also experiment with copper or rust-toned lips. Anastasia Beverly Hills also makes a rose gold highlighter that will make your skin glow.
