The 29th annual Screen Actors Guild Awards are underway on Sunday, Feb. 26, and the show is already bringing the heat — especially in the beauty department. With a nominee list that reflects all the hottest actors of the year — from Michelle Yeoh to Jennifer Coolidge to Quinta Brunson — it should come as no surprise that the evening's hair, makeup, and nail looks would be just as off the charts.
The best glam of the night so far include (but aren't limited to) matching outfit/hair accessories, elegant updos, and lots of new twists on your standard french manicure. With the latter, "rich girl" nails were all over the red carpet (on Aubrey Plaza, Jenna Ortega, and more), while Niecy Nash-Betts kept it simple with a cloudy french. In the hair category, volume reigned supreme — from Amanda Seyfried's half-up ponytail to Meghann Fahy's '90s blowout — as did curtain bangs. And, of course, the cast members of your favorite shows like "The White Lotus" and "Wednesday" shone on the red carpet with hair, makeup, and nail moments that deserve awards of their own.
Take a look at the best beauty looks from the show ahead. We promise you'll be starry-eyed.
Zendaya brought a retro makeup look to the SAGs red carpet, featuring Twiggy-inspired eyelashes and '90s frosted eyeshadow. Her hair also gave Old Hollywood glamour vibes; celebrity hairstylist Tai Simon styled her hair in loose curls and a deep, dramatic side part using OGX hair products. "We wanted something romantic but also a bit playful — an ultimate bombshell blowout," Simon tells POPSUGAR in a press release.
It doesn't get more classic than Delevingne's SAGs makeup look, which featured a bright red lipstick, her signature bold brows, and a neutral smoky eye. Her hair, styled in loose flowing waves, was by celebrity hairstylist Danielle Priano using SexyHair Products.
Coolidge wore chrome nails but with a big twist at the SAG Awards. The star's manicure featured black linework that made the design look cracked. Her manicurist, Vanessa Sanchez McCullough, used Sally Hansen products for the look. Her makeup was by Lilly Keys using Doctor Babor and Nars, and hairstylist Sami Knight did her hair.
Chrome nails have been everywhere this year, but we especially dig Brunson's twist on the look, giving it the french-manicure treatment by putting the chrome finish on only the tip of her fingers.
Ortega has been on a roll this year since the debut of "Wednesday" on Netflix, and her retro shag haircut was equally as edgy as her character. The look was created by her go-to hairstylist, David Stanwell, and styled into loose, messy waves.
DeBose traded in her signature pixie cut for a chic braided ponytail punctuated by baby-hair swirls on either side of her temples.
Park glimmered from head to toe thanks to makeup artist Jenna Nicole using Jouer Cosmetics, but we especially loved her elegant updo with perfectly split curtain bangs.
Presenter and "The White Lotus" star Plaza kept it bronze and breezy, matching her eye makeup to her cutout gown. Her hair was by celebrity stylist Mark Townsend using Sol de Janeiro products.
The traditional french manicure got a subtle twist, thanks to Nash-Betts's cloudy take on the trend.
This year has seen the big return of the '90s blowout, so it only makes sense that the "The White Lotus" star brought it to the SAG Awards. Hairstylist Jacob Rozenberg used products from John Frieda Hair Care and the old-school, tried-and-true method: a round brush, roller clips, and a blow dryer.
If you can look away from Garner's sleek pixie cut and piecey bangs created by hairstylist Bobby Eliot, you'll notice her makeup artist, Hung Vanngo, created a monochromatic copper look with terracotta eyeshadow, blush, and lipstick courtesy of Chanel's Les 4 Ombres Multi-Effect Quadra Eyeshadow in Tweed Fauve ($88) and Rouge Allure Velvet Lip Colour in Intuitive ($45).
Seyfried's hair was pulled up into a high ponytail and bolstered with extensions to add next-level volume. The result was an updo hairstyle that felt decidedly 1960s.
Yeoh looked amazing on the red carpet in a Schiaparelli gown. We loved her wavy side bang, which led back to her equally wavy, long ponytail. She paired the hairstyle with simple, beige "rich girl" nails.
Bassett looked like a vision in a yellow Giambattista Valli gown. Her natural curls were styled with lots of volume, and she paired the look with simple, "rich girl" nails and glowy makeup.
Richardson's head-turning SAG Awards look featured a bold, shiny red lip and a sleek supermodel bun. Celebrity makeup artist Jenna Kristina created her classic makeup look using Lashify Gossamer Lashes.
Tabasco's SAG Awards makeup would make her "The White Lotus" character, Lucia, proud. It featured an Italian bob haircut styled in tousled waves and dark, smoky eye makeup.
Hsu's SAG Awards beauty look included shimmery eye makeup, which complemented her pink gown, and slicked-back hair left hanging freely.
