Rooshy Roy cofounded Aavrani to share the beauty rituals and traditions of Ayurveda in a way that's accessible and fun. The biggest challenge of the former, she says, has been the preparation and "gathering of each of the resources. We don't have access to quality Indian ingredients everywhere, and we don't all have the time to be mixing up our own stuff."

That's why the brand's core products, like the best-selling Glow Activating Exfoliator, are inspired by recipes Roy's grandmother used growing up, incorporating common Ayurvedic ingredients like turmeric, neem, rose water, saffron, and more. The entire range is a nod to her heritage that she can incorporate into her daily routine.

"Ayurveda is such an important reminder that beauty is so much more 360 in nature and not just isolated to the product that we're using," Roy says. She drinks room-temperature water first thing in the morning to flush out toxins, hair oils weekly, and drybrushes her body before showers to help with lymphatic drainage and exfoliation. "You don't need to be an expert, and you don't have to do everything in order to start integrating its wisdom into your life," she says, noting that starting off your day with warm water is already integrating Ayurvedic practices into your life.

Aavrani is primarily a skin-care brand with editor-backed formulations, including the Healing Rose Clay Mask for breakouts and the Moisturizing Hydra-Cream for deep hydration (which "Real Housewives of New York" star Jessel Taank considers as a must have, too). But now, after three years of development, they are venturing into hair-care partnering with comedian and TV host Lilly Singh. "I always wanted it to be in skin, body, and hair because Ayurveda has so much depth across all those categories," Roy says. Rather than focusing on styling and quick fixes, she wants to highlight scalp care and overall hair wellness.

Beyond sharing her favorite Ayurvedic practices and the upcoming launch of Aavrani's hair-care line with Singh, Roy is dropping her current must-have products ahead.

Although Roy isn't a self-proclaimed lip girly, she loves using Ami Colé's The Lip Treatment Oil in Clear ($20). "[It] is super high shine without that stickiness, and it also is very hydrating," she says. She notes that, unlike other lip products that just sit on the surface of skin, this formula has ingredients that penetrate the lips, like baobab seed oil, passion fruit seed oil, and camellia oil.

"It's kind of like a skin-care product in addition to a cosmetic product, and that's why I'm obsessed with it," Roy says. In addition to the translucent option, this Lip Treatment Oil also comes in a rosy-brown shade, a light peachy pink, a bright pink, and a nude with gold shimmer.

Pro Tip: Roy says she wears the oil on its own as well as on top of other lip colors, especially when she wants to add a natural shine to matte lipstick.

Roy is particular about posture correcting and overall alignment, and after discovering the Forme Power Bra ($175), she has never looked back. In fact, she has about four of them that are in rotation often. "It's specifically designed to pull your shoulder muscles back," she says. "If you're pulling them forward, the bra kind of gets a little stiff, so naturally, you adjust straight or stand-up straighter by just wearing it." Roy loves that the bra helps her improve her posture without feeling uncomfortable throughout the day, noting that it feels super soft on the skin and doesn't feel as constricting as a regular bra.

She's been wearing The Power Bras for eight or nine months and noticed a huge improvement in her posture overall. "I do notice when I'm not wearing the bra, I'm more naturally inclined to have better posture," she says.

Pro Tip: Roy recommends getting the bra true to size rather than sizing up so that the posture-correcting mechanism actually works.

After her Ayurvedic practitioner recommended that she reduce her acidity intake, Roy switched from coffee to tea, and her favorite blend is the Vahdam Darjeeling Black Tea ($21). "Growing up, my mom would always bring back Darjeeling tea from India, it was her thing every afternoon," she says. "I specifically love the Darjeeling summer one because it reminds me of home. The tea grounds me and brings me to the present moment in a really lovely way that I didn't anticipate."

Roy adds that she loves to listen to Toni Jones's affirmations while she prepares and enjoys her morning tea. "One of my favorite tracks is called 'Energy Budget,' and it's all about reclaiming your energy and what direction you put it in. A lot of times we don't even realize we're putting our time and attention to things that aren't serving us, like when we're scrolling on our phone. We think we want to do that, but then we end up just comparing ourselves to people or, you know, feeling inadequate or whatever that is. I love the concept of energy budget because I'm in control of where I'm putting that attention, and wherever I put my attention, that thing is going to blossom and turn and help me find my purpose."

Pro Tip: Roy likes to use three tea bags for a stronger taste, along with a tablespoon of raw honey and a dash of whole milk. The former tip helps cut the acidity as well.

Roy's skin type is sensitive to seasonal changes, so it is reactive depending on the weather and humidity. Right now, she loves using the Tatcha Indigo Overnight Repair Serum in Cream Treatment ($92) as her night cream. After taking the day off with an oil cleanser and washing her face, she goes in with the Aavrani Balance Restoring Serum ($53), followed by the Indio Overnight Cream.

"It feels like one of those sheet masks, but without the sheet," she says. "I love the jelly texture, I can feel my skin absorbing the product. In the morning, my skin is just so plump and dewy." The serum-meets-moisturizer is great for hydration and strengthening the skin's barrier while calming irritated skin.

Pro Tip: Roy recommends waiting for this cream to absorb into the skin before jumping into bed, noting that it can take some time to sink in because of its rich texture.

Roy notices that her skin gets dull when she travels, and she leans on the Aavrani Glow Activating Exfoliator ($29) to revive her complexion. "I look like I got eight hours of sleep — like the kind of glow you get after you exercise," she says. The formula's three main ingredients are turmeric, raw honey, and neem, which came from her grandmother's recipe. "Turmeric is a powerhouse anti-inflammatory. Honey, it's a natural humectant. It draws moisture from the air and it keeps it locked in. Neem is just a really nice ingredient for alleviating irritation and redness," she says.

Roy notes that this product works across all skin types, including sensitive, and it helps by treating dark spots and uneven skin tone, preventing future breakouts, and adding hydration.

Pro Tip: Roy says that you can use this mask as a spot treatment too, if you want to target a specific area. She also applies the mask on her elbows, knees, or anywhere with a rougher texture to help smooth it out.
