On Tuesday, Avril Lavigne took to Instagram to further update her fans on her ongoing battle with Lyme disease. In two photos from her visit to the doctor's office, Avril is shown lying on an exam table. The captions read, "Overcoming Lyme Disease. Feels good to have my Dr. smile and tell me how much progress I am making. Avril first revealed she was suffering from undisclosed health issues in December 2014. Months later, she opened up about her Lyme disease diagnosis, saying she was "bedridden for five months" because of the illness, and during an interview with Good Morning America in June, Avril got emotional when talking about her treatment.
