Issa Rae is the star and showrunner of HBO's Insecure, and in addition to her undeniable talent, she can thank her fierce drive and attitude for her skyrocketing career. The 33-year-old badass stopped by The Late Show With Stephen Colbert on Thursday to promote the new episodes of her show, which is currently on its third season. While discussing what's up with Molly, Daniel, and more, she revealed the best piece of advice she's gotten since finding success, which was given to her by fellow women in the industry, like Shonda Rimes and Ava DuVernay.

"As a showrunner, being in the industry, just as a woman, once you're labeled 'difficult,' your career is kinda over, 'cause then it's like everybody's saying, 'Oh she's hard to work with, beware.' And then you don't get many chances to fail," she said. "The advice from them was, 'Don't be afraid to be a b*tch,' and it's so true."

All we have to say to that is, "Preach!" Watch the rest of the interview above to see a clip of Insecure before it premieres on Aug. 12 at 10: 30 p.m.
