You Need to Hear Sterling K. Brown's Powerful Speech About Representation in Hollywood

Sterling K. Brown can give one heck of a speech. During the Golden Globes on Sunday night, the This Is Us actor took a moment to talk about representation in Hollywood when he accepted his first win for best actor in a drama — marking the first win for a black actor in this category. After making sure he thanked his wife, Ryan Michelle Bathe, Brown took a moment to thank This Is Us creator and writer Dan Fogelman for writing his beloved character, Randall Pearson. "You wrote a role for a black man," he said, "that can only be played by a black man. I'm being seen for who I am." Brown's speech certainly comes at the perfect time, as Hollywood continues to make more efforts to be more inclusive. Be sure to check out the rest of his moving speech above.
